WEEK SCHEDULE

The retreat is split into two parts: workshops and exploring Bali. The first part is mainly about Flow Arts workshops (with some small trips), and the last part, starting from the 17th, is mainly about trips, with some spontaneous workshops and Flow jams. You can book only the first part and leave on the 17th, but if you can, it’s, of course, way more fun to join everything!

  • Monday, March 10th, is the day of arrival at the resort, and check-in starts at 3pm. We begin with a dinner and an orientation meeting
  • March 11-16: Workshops! Five full workshop days, one day with one afternoon trip in the middle, and possible evening outings
  • March 17-20: Explore Bali! (There will be spontaneous workshops and many Flow Jams!) Daily trips to temples, beaches, rice terraces, a volcano hike, and iconic spots. You decide per day if you want to join the journey, or stay at the resort (or do your own thing)
  • March 21st; leaving day…
(Or not if you decide to stay longer at the resort ;))
THE DAILY SCHEDULE

We’ll have two indoor, airconditioned workshop spaces plus an outdoor, shaded area to train. This is an example of the daily schedule;

  • 8:00 – 9:00 Yoga with Luke
  • 9:00 – 10:00 Breakfast buffet
  • 10:00 – 11:15 Poi Beginners AND Flow Arts Workshops

BALI'S CLIMATE

March marks the end of the rainy season, bringing a perfect blend of fresh air, lush green jungle scenery, and comfortable temperatures for training. We might experience some rain, but the weather is generally pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 22 to 31 degrees Celsius (72 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit) and an average of 7 hours of sunshine daily!
It’s also a quieter time to visit, as the high season begins in April. When we explore temples and other iconic spots, we’ll enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere and have the freedom to move around with ease.

What is The Accommodation? ✔ 3-star resort

Puri Saron Madangan is a serene, temple-inspired resort tucked away in Bali's lush inland, offering a peaceful escape from the busy tourist areas. With its elevated location, the resort enjoys fresher air than the island's coastal regions.

Featuring traditional Balinese architecture, three stunning swimming pools, and breathtaking jungle views, it provides an authentic and tranquil experience. The charming villas, each with pristine views of nature, allow you to select your ideal accommodation based on your personal preferences. We'll have this as our private resort during the retreat!!

the trips? you choose!

The 2nd part of the retreat is mainly about outing; March 17-21. During these five days, you've paid for your room and breakfast with the ticket. For all the rest, you're free to choose per day what you want to do!

We're offering daily trips to temples, rice fields, the beach, and a hike up Agung or Batur.
We can discuss and vote with the group where exactly we're going.

Per day, you decide if you go with the bus or stay at the resort, or do your own thing!
When you go with the bus, you'll pay in cash for the bus and the entry fees of that day.

Lunch and dinner isn't included during those days, as we'll be at many different locations. So you choose where you want to eat, from the possibilities at the location we're at.
If you stay at the resort, you can order á la carte in the restaurant.

For who? All levels

All levels of Poi, Hoop, Buugeng, Staff Spinning, Double Staff, Dance, etc., are welcome to join! We’ll offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced options for most techniques. For the Poi workshops, we split the group into different levels.

To benefit the most from this retreat, know the basic poi moves, such as 3-beat weaves (forward and backward), windmills, watermills, hip-reels, and turns butterflies (same-time, split-time), and buzzsaws.

If you can’t do some of the moves listed above, don’t worry! We will teach you that. However, if you want to be prepared, look up some tutorials; we recommend Poi Tutorials.com, start as a beginner for only 4,95 per month.

room sharing: can I share a room if I don't know any of the other attendees?

You don’t need to know other attendees to share a room!

If you want to share a room with other attendees, we’ll try to make a match. You can give us your preferences; if you want to stay with people with the same gender, we’ll try to find matching room-mates!

How to reserve a room with a friend?

If you want to share a room with friend(s) or a partner, you don’t have to buy all the tickets at the same time.

You can reserve separately, and all buy only your own ticket. When buying the ticket, leave a note that you want to share the room with friend(s) or a partner! Or send me a message at +336 3456 0233 to confirm you want to share.

Is the tap water drikable in Indonesia?

No, I wouldn't recommend drinking tap water in Asia. You can buy bottled water or take a travel filter bottle.
During the buffets there will be drinkwater available in the restaurant.
