Wuyishan Airport is a small, modern regional airport serving the Wuyishan area. It handles domestic flights from major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu.
The airport has a single terminal, so navigation is straightforward. After landing, allow 15–20 minutes to collect your luggage and exit through arrivals. There is no immigration — all flights here are domestic.
💡 Tip: If you haven’t already, pick up a local SIM card at the airport. Mobile data is essential for WeChat, Alipay, and maps in rural China. You can also get one at convenience stores in Wuyishan city.

Once you exit the arrivals hall, your pre-arranged driver will be waiting in the pick-up area outside, holding a sign with your name or the retreat name. If you’re taking a regular taxi, head to the taxi rank directly outside the terminal.
Tell the driver: “洋庄浆溪村” (Yángzhuāng Jiāngxī Cūn). Having this written in Chinese on your phone makes communication easy.
The drive from Wuyishan Airport to Jiangxi Village is a scenic journey through one of China’s most beautiful landscapes.
The drive in two stages:
1. Wuyishan Airport → Wuyishan City (10 min) — A short drive on Wuyi Boulevard through the city. You’ll pass tea shops, local restaurants, and the entrance to the Wuyishan Scenic Area.
2. Wuyishan City → Jiangxi Village (15–25 min) — The road heads northwest along the Chongyang Stream (崇阳溪), passing through bamboo groves and tea plantations. The last stretch winds through mountain roads into the village.
