Want to know when we launch the next GuateFlow Gathering?
(Expected Jan/Feb 2028)

Retreat in China? Yes! Ever since we visited this secluded, unique, and deeply inspiring part of the world and were introduced to the Chinese Flow community, we have wanted to create a retreat that allows the international community to have the same experience. And here we are!

With a beautiful venue set deep in the Wuyi mountains, organised in collaboration with our Chinese friends and China Flow Fest (CFF), we invite you to the first international retreat in China — a unique opportunity to experience something truly special.

China Flow Retreat is an invitation into the unknown — a land shaped by legends, where martial roots meet modern flow, and every landscape feels alive with story. This is where flow and practice return to their essence.

Imagine yourself in the heart of the Wuyi Mountains — peaks rising through clouds, rivers carving ancient paths, temples quietly standing, defying time. You move, train, and explore, guided by world-class teachers and surrounded by a vibrant, deeply connected international community.

This is a 10-day immersion into practice, creativity, and connection: workshops that sharpen your skills, jams that ignite your expression, and moments that stay with you long after the journey ends.

It begins with 4 days of private retreat — a closed circle, full focus, real progress, and meaningful connection. Then it expands into 3 days of China Flow Fest (CFF) — performances, DJs, parties, and a wider flow community from Southeast Asia coming together. And for those who want more, an optional 2-day adventure exploring temples, waterfalls, and hidden natural gems — flowing, discovering, and experiencing China beyond the surface.

retreat Teachers
Lucero Ponce 卢瑟罗-
hoop, silk fans, belly dance

Lucero Ponce is a Peruvian Flow Artist whose movement style is pure magic — blending hula hoop, belly dance, buugeng, and balancing into an expressive, hypnotic flow. Her vibe is a fusion of technical mastery and deep body awareness, turning every performance into an experience.

Lucero’s journey started in 2010 with modern, belly, and contemporary dance, along with yoga and meditation. Flow Arts entered her life in 2015, through hoop — and from there, everything expanded. She brings the grace of a dancer, the presence of a yogi, and the fire of a performer to every prop she touches.

As one half of Equilibra, her world-traveling duo with Gustavo Ollitta, Lucero has performed across 25+ countries, lighting up festival stages, retreats, and international shows. Whether she’s on stage or leading a workshop, she’s always innovating — blending circus, dance, and flow to inspire the next generation of movers.

VOJTA Stolbenko 沃伊塔
Poi, Staff spinning, Staff Juggling, Body Movement

Meet Vojta, the Czech-born flow artist, acrobat, and an innovator in the Poi world today. Known for his next-level technique and high-energy performances, Vojta blends movement, fire, and creativity to push the boundaries of what’s possible with spinning.

With over a decade of experience, he’s not just a top-tier performer — he’s helped shape the global flow scene. He’s toured and trained with legendary troupes like Supercho, Cercle de Feu, Mandalights, and Phoenix Fire Dancers, lighting up stages from Europe to Asia and beyond. Whether it’s spinning fire, flipping through the air, or dropping precise tech combos, his flow is sharp, dynamic, and unforgettable.

Off stage, Vojta is just as impactful. He’s the creator of PoiTutorials.com, where he shares over 150 step-by-step tutorials and epic videos — including the viral hit The Future Is Now. He’s a passionate teacher, hosting workshops and retreats around the world, always down to share knowledge and hype up the next generation of spinners.

If you’re looking for inspo, innovation, and insane skill — Vojta delivers.

Kevin Aleri 凯文
contact Staff, ground work

In 2005, Kevin discovered the new art of fire performance. Immediately, he catapulted onto the stage and started busking in the streets before the great Parisian monuments. They founded the SuperCho company that same year. His shows quickly became a huge success thanks to his innovative and original ideas and his training as a sound engineer.

He has been performing all over the world. He is now also very active behind the stage, growing his company and doing a lot of organization. He’s designing acts and choreographies, and programming LED props. Programming LED props is another of his specialities, having made some of the first iconic shows, such as Concerto Chromatique. With his strong entrepreneurial spirit, he intends to take this company to the end of the dream!

Kevin is a master with Contact Staff and Double Staff. He’s also professionally performing with Poi, Buugeng, and Dragon Staff.

Thibault MICHEL 蒂博
Movement and Dance, Juggling

Thibault stumbled into juggling in the summer of 2014 with nothing but 3 sock balls and pure curiosity. What started as a random obsession quickly turned into a whole universe. Self-taught at first, he spent hours learning tricks alone before joining the Circus School of Lomme in the north of France.

There, he developed his own style — a mix of juggling and movement inspired by contemporary dance. Not just throwing objects in the air, but turning juggling into something fluid, physical, and almost hypnotic.

Today, Thibault performs with Cie Circographie in Au café des nonchalants and Fractures, with Cie NDE in Copyleft and Juventud, while also collaborating on other creative projects. His work blends circus, dance, and raw emotion into performances that feel alive, unexpected, and deeply human.

YUN 云
Chinese Sword dance

Yun Yi is a movement artist active in China’s underground flow and Contact Improvisation scene, known for blending fire dance, Contact Improvisation, martial arts, somatic movement, and traditional Chinese opera into a style that feels both ancient and futuristic. After beginning professional opera training at age 11 at the China Conservatory of Traditional Opera, her path evolved far beyond classical performance — moving into deep exploration of body awareness, neuroscience, meditation, and free movement practices.

Over the years, she has become a respected figure in China’s movement community through her workshops, performances, and facilitation work, building bridges between traditional Chinese movement culture and modern flow arts. Her practice combines Dao Ma Dan energy, improvisation, qigong principles, and embodied movement research, creating experiences that are powerful, raw, immersive, and deeply human. From fire circles to somatic movement spaces, Yun Yi brings a unique presence that inspires people to reconnect with instinct, expression, and the intelligence of the body.

Laury Chanty 劳瑞
Buugeng, poi, DJ

Laury Chanty is a multi-talented artist blending music, technology, and live performance into one seamless experience.

As a producer and composer, he worked closely with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (Daft Punk) in the studio and collaborated with Rico the Wizard on “Feel It Coming.” He later sharpened his edge in modern sound design with Ben Cantil (Berklee / ZEE), pushing his sound into more experimental territory.

On stage, Laury is the co-director of the SuperCho company alongside Kévin Arleri, leading a crew of ten juggling artists. His work mixes fire juggling, illusion, and cutting-edge tech, creating shows that feel both raw and futuristic.

Trained in new magic at the CNAC (National Circus Arts Conservatory), he approaches every project as a full creative playground—blending storytelling, choreography, music, scenography, and media into one cohesive vision.

And when he’s not building shows, you’ll find him behind the decks—bringing that same energy to the dancefloor as a DJ at China Flow Retreat.

David "Frenchy" 大卫
Contact ball, ball juggling

David French—better known as Frenchy—is a performer, creator, and professional bringer of good vibes with more than 20 years of experience turning streets, stages, and festivals into unforgettable experiences.

From mesmerising audiences as a contact juggler and living statue across four continents to touring the UK festival scene as the drummer for the ten-piece party powerhouse Backyard Rhythm Orchestra, Frenchy has spent his life making people stop, smile, and join the fun.

His style blends precision and play: the calm presence of a living statue, the mischievous energy of a clown, and a deep instinct for rhythm, character, and perfect timing.

For the past three years, he’s been training at Paradise Circus in Thailand, diving deeper into fire performance, movement, and improvisation—continuing to evolve, experiment, and bring a little more magic wherever he goes.

Wuyi Mountains Adventure

September 28th–29th — Optional: Adventure & Exploration

After the intensity of the previous days, we ease into exploring the beautiful surroundings. These days are about adventure, enjoying the moment, and spending quality time together in a more relaxed rhythm. While some will begin their journey home, others will stay and soak in these final shared experiences.

A key highlight is a full day immersed in the Wuyi Mountains (Wuyishan) — the very place where the retreat is set. This UNESCO World Heritage site is known for its dramatic cliffs, winding rivers, and rich tea culture.

This is a landscape shaped by time and tradition, where lush tea fields stretch across the hills, and mist often lingers between the peaks. The air feels fresher, the pace slower — it’s the kind of place that naturally brings you back to center.

We’ll spend the day exploring this unique environment — walking through nature, taking in panoramic views, and experiencing the quiet, grounding energy that makes this region so special.

If you feel like it, you can also join an optional bamboo raft ride, drifting gently down the river between towering rock formations — a simple, almost meditative way to see the mountains from another angle.

On the second day, we’ll shift into a more cultural exploration — visiting nearby villages and temples, getting a glimpse of local life, and experiencing the quieter, human side of the region. It’s a chance to slow down even more, wander without a plan, and take in the details — from traditional architecture to small, everyday moments that make this place feel so unique.
